Larkana/ Ratoprdero : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan amir Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) betrayed its voters in Sindh province by giving power share to Muttahida Quami Movement (PPP), adding a democracy based on the bogus votes is not acceptable and regime change in Pakistan has become inevitable due to the failed policies of the sitting government and a neutral caretaker setup is needed to ensure peaceful political transformation.
Addressing a big rally at Jinnah Bagh Larkana on Tuesday, he said the present government has failed on each front and a caretaker setup having confidence of all political parties should be made to ensure smooth and peaceful regime change. He said the year 2012 is the year of election, and people should not give vote to robbers and bandits in the coming polls.
Munawar Hasan said poverty, hunger, joblessness and lawlessness was on its peak in Sindh, while the roads and other civic infrastructure of the province have been turned into ruins. He said the flawed policies of the sitting government are making the rich richer and the poor poorer. He said there is a dire need of social and economic justice, which he said would be provided by an Islamic system. He said his party would bring this Islamic system in Pakistan and every one would get equal rights.
He said his party believes in democratic culture but the Pakistani people do not want a democracy based on bogus votes. He said the ruling PPP is trying to save its rule behind the farce of political reconciliation. Instead of solving problems of poor masses it is doing everything to appease its coalition partners. He said the whole country is burning in fire of lawlessness and terrorism. He said his party believes in the integrity of Sindh province, saying they would break the arms of those talking about dividing Sindh. He said for the last 40 years Sindh voters are electing the PPP but in return they get just more deprivation and neglect. He urged the Sindhi voters to repose confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami to bring a revolutionary change in the country, saying his party would provide the poor masses justice, honor and development.
The JI chief harshly criticized the MQM, labeling it as terrorist outfit . He said that power sharing with it was rubbing salt into the wound of Sindh people. He said the PPP got majority vote from Sindh province but it even shared power with the MQM, whom he labeled as organization involved in politics of gunny bag packed human bodies. He said this political reconciliation was a cruel joke with people of Sindh.
Talking about the Balochistan issue, he said the festering wounds of Balochistan could not be healed with lollipops of packages. He said solid steps are needed to remove the grievances of Balochistan and giving it its due rights. He said the debate of American Congress on Baochistan is interference into internal affairs of Pakistan. He said the US interference is not only the issue faced by Pakistan but it is the biggest problem of this region.
JI central general secretary Liaquat Baloch, provincial chief Asadullah Bhutto, Muhammad Aashiq Dhamrah, Kashif Saeed Shaikh and others also spoke.
