Stability of democratic, judicial organs linked to respecting court orders: Nawaz

LAHORE : Pakistan Muslim League-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif says respecting and implementing the court verdict in letter and spirit is a must for stability of the democratic system and judicial institutions.

The whole nation is united and determined to ensure the court verdicts are fully implemented, and N-league also feels its responsibilities in this regard, PML-N Chief said in a statement issued on Saturday.

Former Prime Minister observed that independent and stronger judiciary had the importance of a milestone in the democratic system, adding that negating from the courts orders would tantamount to destroying the democracy.

Mian Nawaz Sharif said the judiciary was a symbol of pride, unity of the federation and national harmony. He declared that the country was exposed to issues like bitter internal situation and weakening national unity because of denial from the Constitution.

He added that such a situation results in the differences among the federating units, whose redressal could only be guaranteed by implementing the judiciary s order.

He felt today the judiciary was showing unflinching loyalty with the Constitution and was determined to legitimize any unconstitutional move in the country for which all the politicians must be grateful to the judiciary.

PML-N Chief warned that negating from courts verdicts would tantamount to weakening a branch on which the political and democratic system was nesting. He recalled that restoration of the Constitution, supremacy of the parliament, independence of judiciary, freedom of the media and giving the right of electing the rulers to the masses were fruits of a long struggle, which could not be altered for personal interests of a person of party.

He stressed that there should be a difference in the attitude of elected rulers and one-man governments so that the real democracy could be seen and the masses could benefit from it.
