KMC to open two mobile libraries next month

Karachi :  Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that KMC would start two mobile libraries from next month comprising books on classical literature and various others on different disciplines.

In his message on World Library Day on Wednesday, he said Rs 20 million had been allocated for the proposed mobile libraries.  Administrator said internet, computer and cable technology and internet had temporarily distanced people from books, however he felt books would prevail over all mediums in the long run.

He said libraries played an important role in promotion of education and culture. He said big libraries in the city would soon be given status of model libraries. Besides, books worth Rs 2 million were being bought for Karachi Medical and Dental College to cater the needs of students.
