Karachi, Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation KMC Muhammad Hussein Syed said that construction and repair of roads in various areas of Karachi was in full swing.
He elaborated construction of 5 flyovers and 3 underpasses would start within two weeks after tender process, whereas Rs1.6billion would be spend on these projects.
He said carpeting on Korangi 1500 Road has been started with a cost Rs100 million. This road would have two tracks. Moreover repair work from 3000 Road to Malir-15 has also been started and it too would have two tracks.
Two-track Jinnah Road s construction has been started in Manzoor Colony, said he, adding that repair and carpeting work of Khuwaja Moin Chushti Road has been started in Karachi Administration Society.
The administrator said construction of underpasses near PIDC, Shaheen Complex and Mehran Hotel would be started soon, besides construction of underpasses on Dr Ziauddin Road and I.I. Chundrigar Road.
Construction of Shahabuddin Market in Saddar would be started soon, said he, adding that areas around the Empress Market would be improved.
