Islamabad : All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary General Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif refuting the investigation report on Benazir assassination stated that the report has been drafted by the prot g s of Interior Minister Rehman Malik to divert the attention of public from prevailing situation.
In a press statement released here on Monday from APML Central Secretariat, APML Secretary General Barrister Saif said that APML Quaid and former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf is being involved in Benazir assassination for political point scoring on grounds of baseless allegations, added that such reports have no legal status.
Barrister Saif said that PPP endeavoring to remain alive in politics by coining the issue of Benazir assassination , as PPP Co-chairman President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and Interior Minister Rehman Malik have frequently held Baitullah Mehsood responsible for Benazir assassination . The ruling PPP led government also disbursed Rs 600 million to draft sixty pages report on Benazir murder from United Nations, which concluded that as President Pervez Musharraf was the president of Pakistan at the time of Benazir killing so he is responsible for this assassination.
APML Secretary General further elucidated that if former President and APML Chief Pervez Musharraf is responsible for assassination of Benazir Bhutto for simply being in the presidency then President Asif Ali Zardari should also be held responsible for murder of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer and Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti.
Barrister Saif further said that PPP activist Naheed Khan had already pinpointed killers of Benazir Bhutto but the ruling government is not ready to take any action against the alleged persons for their presence in power corridors.
APML Secretary General further said that the day is not far off when Rehman Malik and his boss would be held under the charges of Benazir assassination, added that the report of Interior Ministry has been designed to seek sympathy of public at the name of Benazir Bhuuto.
