Yangoon, Myanmar : President Asif Ali Zardari paid rich tributes to Myanmar icon of democracy Ms Aung San Suu Kyi and said she made “a history with her struggle.”
He was talking to newsmen on Wednesday after conferring Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Award on Ms Aung Kyi at a ceremony here. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari were also present. Aseefa Bhutto decorated her with the Award.
Later talking to newsmené President said people of Pakistan held her in high esteem for her sacrifices. He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had great contribution for the restoration of democracy in Pakistan. “I wish my late wife were here today. We want to encourage democracy in the world.”
